Re: 5.15
Punk wasn't really a THING.

There was the Pistols and The Clash, the rest of it was bollocks. Wasn't really a genre. The music press and the tabloids invented it.

ELO are fantastic.

Re: 5.15
Actually nothing rally good came out of the 70s until Punk and New Wave came along in the late 70s with Bowie thin white duke and Kraftwerk.

Rubbettes, ELO , Yes , Prog rock. You can stick it all up your ass.

Re: 5.15
Not a big fan of this Who era. 5.15 sounds like Bowie in the intro. I'm too old school.

This I love. The real Who:

Moon broke her nose, allegedly>, She ended up with Ian Mclagen of the small faces, allegedly again Moon paid some geezer £100 to break his thumbs so Townshend Paid him another £100 not to do it. Good work if you can get it. Kim Moon drove into oncoming traffic in the U.S. forgot what side of the road to drive on. Bit of a looker in her day.

Re: 5.15
In the early 70s, Keith Moon used to live near me in Chertsey.

My brother was his paper boy. Moon used to answer the door, pissed at 7am and borrow his bike and stuff.

At Christmas time he opened the door, pissed up, and put his hand in his pocket to give him a tip, but all he had was a load of dog ends. Could just as easily have been a thousand pounds.

My dad drank in Moon's local ( The Golden Grove). Apparently he was a right cunt and used to knock his missus about.

Moon, that is, not my dad.

Did you know?

Pete Townshend wrote I Can See for Miles after picking up his first pair of prescription glasses from the opticians.

Re: 5.15
Rough Mix is an excellent album.

And Townshend's 1982 solo album All The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes, is fucking brilliant, despite some ghastly early 80s fretless bass and drumming that can only be described as "wanky".

muskie 4:52 Mon Apr 30
Re: 5.15
Actually Eminence front isn't too bad, I remember Daltrey and Entwistle both complaining about Townshend saving the best stuff for his solo album. He also had some really good stuff on an album he did with Ronnie Lane - Rough Mix, would have been a great Who album.

Re: 5.15
I might put SQUEEZEBOX in that top 10, when I am feeling frivolous.

Leonard Hatred 4:45 Mon Apr 30
Re: 5.15
They still play Eminence Front live. And Face Dances was alright.

Admittedly, It's Hard was a bit shite.

Townshend used all his best stuff for his solo album.
